Faith, in Islam, is a complete surrender to Allah to do His will. It is a firm conviction in Allah’s oneness, His power, His absolute authority over all creation, His absolute right to rule over us and His life on earth. He is the sole Creator of the heavens and earth and everything in them. One of the key beliefs in Islam is that there is no God but Allah. The Qur’an says, “Let there be no faith in the animal nature of a thing. No faith in the Transformer of the seed, nor in the Maker of the earth and the heavens. No faith in the Transformer of the remaking of the dead.”
Repentance from sins and turning away from them
The five pillars of Islam are the basic beliefs of Islam. They are the foundation of Islam. They are: faith in the one and only God; the Prophet Mohammed as the Messenger of Allah; the last Prophet, peace be upon them; the Quran, the holy book of Islam; and the five daily prayers performed by Muslims.
Love and care for fellow humans
Allah says in the Quran: “Allah commands you to be with whatever causes you to rejoice. And with whatever causes you to grieve, do not turn away.” (5:94) The Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said: “Five things are the roots of faith: to refrain from false deities; to refrain from what causes the ruin of a family; to refrain from speaking ill of the messengers of Allah, even if they are our parents; to refrain from associating partners with Allah; and to refrain from what causes one to lose his or her temper.”
Jihad (struggle against oppression)
The Quran is the primary source of authentic Islamic knowledge. It is the revelation of God’s word to the last Prophet, peace be upon him. Practice patience and forgiveness
There are five pillars of Islam that are essential to being a Muslim: faith, prayer, charity, fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, and pilgrimage to Mecca. While these are the most common and well-known, there are other important parts of Islam that are often overlooked. For example, having good relationships with those around you is also a cornerstone of Islam. In addition, Islam is a faith of peace. Muslims are taught to be tolerant of those who are different from them in regards to religion, culture, and lifestyle.
Recognize one’s own insignificance and humility
In Islam, the five things that are the most important are the worship of Allah alone (tawahuṃul lā ilāha illā Allāh), sincere faith in the Oneness of Allah (tawaḥid), turning away from whatever leads one away from Allah, keeping good relations with one’s parents and relatives, and charity toward the poor and the needy. These are the five Islamic pillars. These five are dearer to Allah than anything else. Everything else is secondary to these, except for the Quran, the Sunnah, and the authentic Hadith.
Be generous to the poor and needy
Islam recognizes five core principles: faith, action, speech, effort, and intention. The first is faith in Allah. The Quran says: “Surely, Allah, the Mighty, Who has created the whole universe, does not lack the ability to take any of His servants as partners. Rather, He enfolds them in the love of the truth.” (Qur’an, 5:76) It also states: “Nothing whatever is similar to faith except for the faith of a person who stands firm on the earth.” (Qur’an, 2:125) Faith is the most important thing in Islam because it is the foundation of all other good deeds. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever has faith, then let him work; and whoever does work, then let him ask for sustenance from Allah, for faith and work are connected.” (Muslim, no. 4443)
